Virginia, the DMO plan is known as the Dental Network Only plan (DNO). DNO in Virginia is not an HMO.

To receive maximum benefits, members must choose a participating primary care dentist to coordinate their care with network providers. Plan options may vary by state. DMO is available at a lower cost than a traditional dental PPO insurance plan. Members can select a participating PCD from our dental network. Eligible preventive, basic and major services are covered. PCD referrals and preauthorization are only required when specialty care is needed.

The Aetna Dental Access network has partnered with over 220dental locations all over the country to make excellent dental care more accessible and affordable. Over 220dental locations nationwide! Sometimes you might see multiple dentists at the same location.

Using the PPO plan, the insured can visit any dentist they choose without a referral. At a general dentist or oral surgeon in the Aetna Dental Access network , members can save - per visit. Exact savings depend on the type of extraction involved and whether your general dentist or your oral surgeon is doing the work (oral surgeons are typically more expensive and perform more complicated extractions).

This network is administered by Aetna Life Insurance Company (ALIC). Neither ALIC nor any of its affiliates offers or administers the discount program. Aetna Dental works with ClaimConnect TM offered by EDI Health Group (EHG) to provide easy access to check patient eligibility, file a claim, check claim status, view patient rosters and Electronic Remittance Advice.
