Tenncare dental coverage for adults

Rather than sending the patient home with active disease, dental offices can now stop the disease progression with an SDF treatment. TennCare does not cover any dental care , including oral surgery , for adults age and older.

If you are or older, TennCare pays for dental care in special circumstances, including an injury from an external force, growth in the mouth, a life-threatening infection or accidental injury to a tooth replacement such as a bridge. DentaQuest manages dental claims and services for TennCare members. Use your BlueCare SM or TennCare Select Member ID card for dental care. Prescription drug coverage and claims are managed by Magellan HealthSM – an independent company.


A TennCare Standard adult age or older who is not enrolled in Standard Spend Down (SSD), does not have Medicare, and is not getting long-term care. TennCare Kids Dental Services TennCare Kids dental checkups, services and treatments are available to help your children keep their teeth and gums healthy.
